Fly Along with the Emirates Group

The Emirates Group is one of the world’s leading corporations which deal with every aspect of travel and tourism. The company is well known for its airline, also named Emirates. The airline was founded in 1984 and began its operation the following year, making it one of the youngest fleets in operation today. The first planes to join the Emirates fleet in 1985 were two aircrafts on wet-lease from Pakistan. It was also in that year that Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum gave the fledgling airline two Boeing 727-200s as a gift to kick start the operations. The airline continued to grow over the years, and is currently the largest airline in the Middle East.

The Emirates Group does not just revolve around its award-winning airline. In fact, the airline itself was built on top of an existing company that was established in 1959 to handle ground operations for an airport that was to be opened the next year.  The company, dnata, started with only 5 personnel, but as soon as the Dubai International Airport began operations, that number grew dramatically. Today, dnata employs over 20,000 personnel around the world to provide world-class air services in the 37 countries it serves.

The combined success of both the Emirates airline and dnata has made the Emirates Group a force to be reckoned with in the world of business and travel. Along with the rapid development of Dubai, the company continues to grow at a fast, but steady pace.  The brand the Emirates Group has produced is well recognized in the world and has a great reputation when it comes to customer service. Despite everything that has been happening in and around the Middle East, the Emirates Group seems to have built the company on solid ground as it continues to progress year after year with no signs of stopping anytime soon.
